Powerphase Issued New Patent for Dry Air Injection in the Rotor Air Cooling Systems of Siemens Westinghouse and Mitsubishi 501 & 701 Series Gas Turbines

JUPITER, November 6, 2018 – Powerphase patent portfolio continues to expand as the company was issued a patent for using its gas turbine upgrade to increase output by injecting dry air into the rotor air cooling systems as found on Siemens Westinghouse and Mitsubishi 501 & 701 Series Gas Turbines. The gas turbine upgrade, dubbed Turbophase, is a revolutionary process where 10-20% additional power can be achieved and combined cycle efficiencies from an existing gas turbine at a price point well below building a new simple-cycle plant; Other features include the ability to pre-heat the gas turbine allowing for much quicker start times as well as air injection to increase the hot gas path parts life.
