JACK EGAN

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

 As a Managing Partner, Mr. Egan plays an active role in the investment process at Egan-Managed Capital and is available to support the growth and recruiting activities of Egan-Managed Capital portfolio companies. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of former portfolio company NetScout Systems, and is a Board Member at both EMC Corporation and VMware, Inc. He formerly served as a Board Director for EPiCON (acquired by Northern Telecom, NYSE: NT), CenterStone Software (acquired by Manhattan Software), HighGround Systems (acquired by Sun Microsystems), Lineo, Monetrics (acquired by JM Family Enterprises), Novera Software (acquired by Mercator Software, NASDAQ: MCTR), Healthrageous, HighRoads, and Caldera Systems (NASDAQ: CALD).

John (Jack) Egan co-founded Egan-Managed Capital during a sabbatical from EMC Corporation. Prior to his sabbatical he was Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing for several years where he directed the development of EMC’s sales force and market positioning. During his tenure, the sales organization missed only one out of 54 quarterly sales quotas while growing the business from $3 million to nearly $3 billion in annual sales. He returned to EMC at the request of the Company’s Board in early 1998 to assume a 10-month role as Executive Vice President of Products where he managed marketing, manufacturing and product development through a transition to a new organizational structure. Having achieved the Board’s objectives, he retired from active employment at EMC at the end of 1998. He holds degrees in marketing and computer science from Boston College.
